(spots will be chosen in February; if you did not get a spot you will still be emailed with your 20% discount)
Clabough's Entertainment & Photography is looking for equestrian models to pose with their horses, as well as some specific breeds of horses to photograph on their own.
How it works:
- Models will receive a 30-45 minute (depending on the model call this could be up to 2 hours) horse or horse & rider portrait session where their horse is stabled, as well as receive 5 complimentary high-resolution digital images. *additional high-resolution and social media-sized digital images from your gallery are available to purchase if desired, at a discounted rate, as well as albums, prints, and wall art.*
Requirements:
- Horse is boarded within 30 minutes of zip code 37876
- Permission to be photographed at the property where your horse is stabled
- Have horse clean and neatly groomed for your photo shoot
- Cooperate with photographer to choose clothing and tack for your photo shoot – specific styles of clothing/outfits/tack may be required
- Have at least one active social media account where you can post and share images from your session
Spaces are very limited.
While not all applicants will be selected as models for this call, every applicant who submits, will be given 20% off any future portrait session scheduled by November 16th, 2024, as a thank you for applying.
Selected models will be notified via email by Brittany, and a timely response within 24 hours is required by all participants to secure your session. If selected, you must sign a model release and liability release.
1. High End Show Horse/Rider for Regular & Black Background Session
Horse Needed: AQHA, APHA, ApHC, PtHA, PBHA, etc show horse type. Must be braided/banded with fake tail
Color Preference: Bay, pinto, appaloosa, sorrel with lots of chrome, buckskin, palomino
Location Needed: Covered barn isle. Nice outdoor area a plus
Tack/Outfit Required: High end western pleasure show tack - matchy matchy, flashy show jacket, hat, pant/chaps, etc.
Description of session: Horse needed for a black background session. Will be taking full body, portrait, and head shots for portfolio purposes. Will be focusing on horse only photos but would like to do horse and rider photos as well for the right pair/matchy matchy outfit and tack.
Compensation: A limited number of Fully edited digital photos will be given in exchange for your time. Extra photos from the session can be purchased at a discounted rate!
Photos will be used to promote this type of session and for portfolio purposes.
2. Horse and Rider for Equestrian Lifestyle Session
Horse Needed: Show horse type - AQHA, APHA, ApHC, Warmblood, Friesian, etc.
Color Preference: Any
Location Needed: Higher end barn
Tack Required: Full English tack - very clean, Dressage, Hunter, or Jumper preferred.
Rider Required: Looking for a female between ages 16-40, 20s preferred, with modern riding clothes. Well styled and neat looking. Breeches, tall boots, and helmet a must. (Please send photos of outfits) Great opportunity for an aspiring model.
Description of session: Horse and rider needed for an equestrian lifestyle session. Will be taking photos of a daily routine for a rider including but not limited to: catching, grooming, saddling, lunging, riding, washing, chores, etc. Will be at least a 1-2 hour session to get all the shots. High end barn/nice looking pastures preferred to provide the backdrop required.
COMPENSATION: A LIMITED NUMBER OF FULLY EDITED DIGITAL PHOTOS WILL BE GIVEN IN EXCHANGE FOR YOUR TIME. EXTRA PHOTOS FROM THE SESSION CAN BE PURCHASED AT A DISCOUNTED RATE!
PHOTOS WILL BE USED TO PROMOTE THIS TYPE OF SESSION AND FOR PORTFOLIO PURPOSES.
3.Equine Wedding Portraits
Horse Needed: Any breed
Color Preference: Any color
Location Needed: scenic background or well-kept facility; the use of our property can be arranged with the mountain backdrop and cedar trees to promote our wedding venue
Tack Required: Plain leather headstall
Description of session: Ideally the session is to promote equine weddings, you and your partner would need to be dressed as if you were going to your wedding/a styled wedding shoot etc. and your horse cleaned up.
COMPENSATION: A LIMITED NUMBER OF FULLY EDITED DIGITAL PHOTOS WILL BE GIVEN IN EXCHANGE FOR YOUR TIME. EXTRA PHOTOS FROM THE SESSION CAN BE PURCHASED AT A DISCOUNTED RATE!
PHOTOS WILL BE USED TO PROMOTE THIS TYPE OF SESSION AND FOR PORTFOLIO PURPOSES.
*Special cases I can allow the use of one of my horses; you MUST know how to ride; please no rinky dink trail riding places being the place you rode...no offense but those horses are play on your phone dead heads while mine are not. Mine are athletes who work for a living and are trained to move off your seat*
4. Reining Horse
Horse Needed: Reining - flashy preferred
Color Preference: Any color for reining but flashy or chrome preferred
Location Needed: Reining - dirt/clay fenced riding area with good evening light
Tack Required: Reining - show reining tack/show pad/outfit and must be colorful
Description of session: I would like all gaits, sliding stops, and pivots

Requirements:
- Show ready preparation (which may include professional braiding depending on the horse).
- Clean, well maintained facility and/or scenic natural environment.
- Well cleaned high end tack or breed specific tack.
- Horses must be well trained and mannered. Must be able to stand square with a halter or bridle in hand without corrective aids (such as stud chains, etc.).
Preferences for rare breeds/colors/characteristics:
- Unique colors such as rare painted markings, flashy colors with dapples, true white.
- Rare breeds or older breeds sporting full traditional attire. (For example. purebred Arabian in traditional decorative attire or a draft in medieval tack.)
- Other unique characteristics include horses with extremely long and well-kept manes (i.e. Friesian, Gypsy Vanner, Andalusian, etc.), blue eyes with a unique coat, etc.
